Julia Stemper (Understudy: Lucia/Mother Bayard/Ermengarde) (she/her) is delighted to be working with TUTA. She is a Chicago-based actor, Artistic Director and Founder of Stone Soup Shakespeare, and a lifelong company member with Chicago’s recently sunsetted The Plagiarists (once a Plagiroo always a Plagiroo). Select credits include most recently The Tragedy of Macbeth (Stone Soup Shakespeare), When You Awake You Will Remember Everything, and I Build Giants (The Plagiarists), Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed (Lifeline), Pericles (Shakespeare Project of Chicago), Romeo and Juliet (First Folio), and Moon Rhymes (Filament) in Chicago. When not onstage she serves as a teaching artist throughout the city, often with Filament Theatre where she also writes grants, and can sometimes be found teaching yoga at Wildlight Yoga. She holds a Masters in Classical and Contemporary Text-Acting from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a BA from Macalester College.
